Cocoa- Coconut Laddu (Narkel Naru)

So, it is Ganesh Chaturthi. Even though in Kolkata we could rarely feel anything about it but in Delhi we get an holiday and we can also see how many people celebrate it here with enthusiasm. This year I though of making some Narkol naru with a twist on Ganesh Chaturthi. Many people make Coconut Barfi but I am extremely fond of the coconut laddoo. So I made that with a twist. It is kind of a white-brown coconut laddoo. To gave that texture I separated the coconut in two parts and mixed cocoa powder in one. I conceived this idea last night at around 1am so thought of executing today itself. It is tasty and delicious. So here goes the Cocoa-coconut laddoo.

Ingredients-

  • 2 medium sized Coconut scrapped
  • 2 Tbsp Condensed milk
  • 2 Tbsp Ghee
  • 4-5 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2-3 Tsp cocoa powder
Method-
  • Divide all the ingredients apart from cocoa powder equally in 2 portions.
  • Take one portion.
  • Heat Ghee in the oak. Once heated mix the coconut, sugar and condensed milk. Mix well. When the mixture is well mixed and become mushy and sticky put the flame off.

  • Take another portion.
  • Repeat the procedures.
  • Mix the cocoa powder in it. Mix well and when becomes sticky and mushy put the flame off.

  • now take some of the white mixture and some brown mixture and make the laddus.
  • You can give any other shape too.
