Ingredients-
- 500gms medium sized prawns
- 1 scraped coconut
- 1/4th tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 Dry chilly
- 1 tsp Char mogoj (dry ash-gourd seeds)
- 2 Green chilly
- 2-3 tsp Milk powder
- Mustard oil 1Tbsp
- 3-4 tsp Sugar
- Salt, turmeric accordingly
- 1tsp ghee.
Method-
- Wash the prawns properly. Keep the heads.
- Marinate the prawns with salt and sugar. Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Scrape the coconut and grind it in the mixer grinder.
- Take a clean and white cloth and keep the scraped coconut in it. Press hard so that you can get the milk from it. Keep doing it till the coconut becomes absolutely dry.
- Now take a deep frying pan.
- Heat the oil for couple of minutes.
- Put the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and dry chilly in it.
- Cover it for couple of minutes. Let the seeds splatter.
- Pour the coconut milk and mix well
- Put the marinated prawns and keep stirring.
- Put the sleeted green chilly.
- add turmeric, salt and sugar.
- In a separate cup mix the milk powder with warm water. Put it in the prawn mixture.
- Cover it for 2-3 minutes.
- Grind the char mogoj (ash-gourd seeds). Make a paste of it and pour it on the mixture.
- Mix well.
- Put some ghee and switch off the gas oven.
- Cover it for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve it with pulao or plain white rice.
