- 1-2 tbsp milk (if required)
For decoration of the cake

- A few packet of KitKat

Preparation of the Chocolate Cake
- Preheat the oven to 180 C/350 F
- Grease the cake tin
- Sift the cake flour, cocoa powder
,baking powder salt and coffee powder in a large bowl.
- In another bowl mix 300gms caster
sugar, 2 eggs, oil and vanilla extract.
- Whisk the ingredients continuously
with a electric whisker a normal whisker for 5-7 mins. There shouldn't be
any lump in it.
- Pour the wet mix into the dry
mixture of and keep whisking with a hand blender (Do not use the electric
blender as that might get the air away and as result you might end up with
a flat cake instead of a fluffy one).
- At last pour some milk in it and
keep whisking. You need to keep whisking till you get a smooth and ribbony
texture.
- Pour the cake mixture in the
greased tin.
- Put it in the microwave oven for
40-45 minutes at 180 degree C.
- Once the top is firm insert a
skewer or a blunt knife at the middle of the cake. If it comes out clean
then remove the cake from the oven.
- Wait for 15-20 minutes and let it
cool down.
- Your cake is ready.
Preparation of the Ganache-- Mix the chocolate, butter and cream in a microwave safe
bowl and keep it in the microwave for 30 seconds in 100 percent power.
- The ingredients have melted a bit. Blend them a little
and then again place it in the microwave for another 30 seconds and NOT
MORE THAN THAT. That will burn the chocolate.
- Stir
the mixture for some time till you get the shiny and smooth texture. If
the mixture is too thick then mix little bit of milk in it and continue
stirring.
- Mix the caster sugar in it. Keep stirring so that no
lump could be formed.
- You will get the shiny and chocolaty ganache.
- Preheat the oven to 180 C/350 F
- Keep the ganache in the fridge for half an hour and let
it cool. You need to apply on the cake in normal temperature. Let your
cake be cooled for 1-2 hours before applying the cold ganache on it.
- Apply the ganache on the cake using a spatula or blunt
knife. It should be thick so that you can stick the Kitkat against the
cake wall.
- Spread the ganache evenly on the top and sides of the
cake.
- Stick the Kitkat on the cake wall.
- Top it with colorful cadbury gems.
- Your cake is ready.
