Souvlaki Chicken Kebab

Kebabs are one of the greatest inventions in the history of food. The smoke, the marinade, thejuicy bit inside make it an absolute ethereal experience. For long I was planning to make Souvlaki Chicken Kebab and finally on a sunday evening I decided to make it. Souvlaki chicken Kebab is one of the easiest and yummiest kebabs according to me. Along with that I made some Taztziki sauce. And as they say why go to Greece when you can get Greek food at home?

Ingredients- (For chicken marination)

  • 1 Tablespoon Butter melted (You can also use Olive oil)
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tsp Oregano
  • 3-4 Cloves of Garlic minced
  • 500 gm Boneless chicken
  • Salt per taste
Ingredient- (For Tzatziki Sauce)

  • 1cup plain Yogurt
  • 1 Tablespoon Vinegar
  • 1 Small cucumber peeled and seeded
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • Salt per taste
  • 3-4 Tsp Olive oil
  • 2-3 Wooden skewers

Method-

  • Blend all the ingredients you need for the Taztziki sauce and mix well. Cover and keep it in the refrigerator to set the flavors.
  • Combine butter, oregano, minced garlic, lemon juice and salt. Marinate the chicken in this mixture. Cover the mixture and keep it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
  • Soak the skewers in lemon water for some time.
  • Put your microwave oven in convection mode. Pre-heat the oven in 200 degree Celsius.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and thread them in the lemon water soaked skewers.
  • Roast it for around 8-10 minutes each side. Keep buttering in between.
  • Serve hot with the cold Tzatziki sauce.
