Roasted prawn in White gravy

I have a fetish for prawns. However, with the increasing heat I am trying to spend lesser time in my kitchen. Last weekend was exception though. I finally got charged up and decided to experiment again in my kitchen. So, what to cook with prawns? How about grilling them a bit with a bit of spices. Umm, but I needed gravy too. Okay, so I had vegetables, let's stir fry them and make the gravy. From there the experiment started and it was absolutely delicious and flavorful.

Ingredients-


  • 250 gms medium size prawns
  • 1 large capcisum
  • 2 small carrots
  • 2 medium size onions
  • 2 green chilly
  • 2 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Lemon pepper
  • 3-4 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup Fresh cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp White oil
  • Salt to taste

Method-
  • wash and peel the prawns. Cut the heads off.
  • Marinate the prawn with oregano, lemon pepper, lemon juice, butter for 10-15 minutes.
  • Preheat the microwave oven in 160 degree C / 320 degree F.
  • Roast the marinated prawns for 15-18 minutes. Keep it aside.

  • Chop the vegetables.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Stir fry the vegetables in it.
  • Mix the cream and milk in it. Stir well till you get a thick gravy.
  • Put the salt in it.
  • Mix the prawns in it and put the flame off.
  • Add little bit of butter.
  • Put the lid on.
  • Serve hot with pasta, risotto or fried rice.
