Chocolate Pudding with Berry syrup topping

Chocolate, one thing that can tickle all your sensations! So, when I saw this months GoodFood India magazine I couldn't resist. I thought of trying the Chocolate Pudding that was in their cover. With bit of modification I made this and it was yummy, chocolaty and the flavor was perfectly balanced. Initially I was thinking whether using blueberry is the right decision or not, but in the end it paid off. However you can replace it with any kind of berry that you like.

Ingredients-

  • 3/4th cup Flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 gm Dark chocolate melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 2-3 tsp cocoa powder
  • 50 gm butter
  • few drops of vanilla extract
For the Berry syrup-
  • 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar/ Jaggery
  • 150 gm blueberry preserve
  • 2 Tsp butter

Method-

  • Melt the brown sugar, butter and berry preserve. Mix well and keep it aside.
  • Mix the flour, butter, melted dark chocolate, eggs (1 at a time), brown sugar, cocoa powder and vanilla extract till you get evenly mixed and airy batter.
  • Grease the mold and pour some berry syrup in it. Pour the batter on the berry syrup. Seal the mold with butter paper or foil wrap and tie with a string.
  • Place it inside a deep saucepan or cooker on a metal stand. Pour some water in it but make sure that the water level does not reach the top of the mold.
  • Cover and bake for 1 hour.
  • Place it upside down on a plate, pour some berry syrup on it.
P.S- heat in microwave for 30 seconds before serving to get the best taste.
