Wanna surprise your lil angel? Or may be your partner with a surprise cake? This cake could be the perfect one for that. Easy to make, yummy to taste and beautiful to look. On a lazy day when multiple reasons were there to make me bit depressed this cake simple helped me to lighten up the mood. As I always believe when nothing works, baking definitely does. And when you see your cake making others smile, that is a great feeling for sure. All it takes is 1 - 1.5 hr to get this cake ready. Here goes the recipe-
Ingredients for cake-
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup powdered brown sugar ( you can also use normal sugar)
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 2 tsp Cocoa Powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp instant coffee powder
- 1 tsp chocolate syrup
- Few drops of Vanilla Extract
Ingredients for Chocolate Ganache-
- 100 gm Dark Chocolate slab
- 100 gm Butter
- 1 Tbsp Fresh Cream
Method for Ganache-
- Double boil the dark chocolate and butter together. Mix them well once melted properly. Mix the cream and mix well. Let it cool.
Method for the cake-
- Pre-heat the microwave convection in 180 degree C.
- In a deep bowl mix all the ingredients and whisk till you get the smooth and consistent batter.
- Grease a cake tin and pour the batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes ( mine took exactly 40 minutes).
Assemble the cake-
- Let the cake cool down completely before you take it out from the cake tin.
- Pour the ganache on it. Decorate it with colored vermicelli, colorful candy, toffee or anything you want.
- Let it set for 10-15 minutes before serving.
