Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Salad and Hummus

Shawarma Wrap, salad and Hummus- YUMMMM.... well, back in Kolkata me and my partner used to hop into the best Shawarma joint often. After coming to Delhi that was one thing we got hugely disappointed, that is till I started making it at home. Shawarma is a delicious food and it is difficult to stop yourself from having an extra bite of it. Making it at home is very easy and you can easily throw a shawarma party anyday with this recipe. People will love you for that.



Ingredients For Pita Bread-


  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 tsp heaped dry yeast
  • Oil to knead the flour
  • Hot water to knead the flour

Method-

  • Activate the yeast.
  • Knead the flour with yeast and hot water and keep the dough in a warm place for 2-3 hours. Let the yeast get fermented.
  • After 2-3 hours make small balls from the dough and roll them in size of chapatis. 
  • Pre-heat the convection oven in 180 degree C.
  • Place the chapatis in the convection for 3-4 minutes.
  • The Pita breads are ready.
Ingredients for Hummus-

  • 1and 1/2 cup chickpeas 
  • 8-9 cloves of garlic
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
Method-
  • Keep the chickpeas in a bowl of water and baking soda for the night.
  • Next day, drain the water and blend the chickpeas, garlic cloves, paprika and mayonnaise till it becomes absolutely smooth. 
  • Hummus is ready 
Ingredients for Chicken Salad filling-
  • 300 gms of boneless Chicken, minced.
  • 2-3 tsp black pepper powder
  • salt per taste
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • Olive oil
  • 2 tsp onion chopped
  • 1 small capsicum chopped
Method-
  • Marinate the chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, black pepper and salt for half an hour.
  • Pre-heat the oven in convection 200 degree C.
  • Place the marinated chicken in it for 20-25 minutes.
  • Now mix the onion and capsicum with the roasted chicken. mix 2-3 tsp hummus with it. Mix well.
  • Chicken salad is ready.
Assemble the whole platter now.
  • Brush some Hummus on the Pita breads.
  • Add some chicken filling and wrap the bread.
  • Shawarma wraps are ready.
  • Serve it with some hummus and chicken salad in the plate.
  • Next time people will come back to you for it.
